I’ve been in hibernation mode but this purple lace off the shoulder shift dress got me out of the house. This happens like every January and February, when the days are too short and work starts getting crazy. I find myself in my least favorite pattern: work, home, make dinner, work some more, sleep, repeat. I can barely get myself out of the house on weekends beyond a work out and running errands; I blame part exhaustion, part seasonal depression. All I want to do is have a glass of wine (note the color of the dress!) curled up on the couch, never-mind getting dolled up and socializing. Anyway, the sun is starting to stay out past five and we’ve had a few 50 to 60 degree days in the last week or so, which means I’m singing a completely different tune.
This burgundy, wine colored off the shoulder lace shift dress (say that 10x fast!) is just right for winter occasions. Bearing the shoulders brings femininity to this otherwise forgiving shift silhouette and I am absolutely loving the color, especially with a similar berry lip. I paired the dress with a leopard clutch and stacked-heel booties. The only thing missing was a leather moto jacket (and a spray tan, ha!), to round out my edgy vibe, but alas #NoShopFebruary struck again and I had to utilize what was already in my closet. I ended up wearing the purple lace shift dress with a camel menswear inspired jacket I scored at J.Crew on major sale in December and Celine tortoise sunglasses found at T.J. Max.
