A good stripe tee is probably one of my most-worn items, especially in between seasons. I love it paired with a denim jacket or simply with my fave jeans and flats. Speaking of denim, a chambray button down is an essential transitional staple. Layer on a cardi for warmth and ditch during your midday lunch break. I also live in button downs all year round. I just ordered this one from Everlane and it’s so soft and a quality piece.
1. J.Crew striped boatneck t-shirt – $39.50
2. J.Crew chambray shirt – $78
3. Everlane collarless button down – $55
One of the key tips for transitional dressing is layers, layers and more layers! My fave way to layer? Jackets. A denim jacket can be worn so many ways: over a t-shirt, for a denim-on-denim look or with a dress. I’m also crushing on leather motto jackets lately which is also a must-have addition to any capsule wardrobe (still working on that…) With spring on its way, unpredictable weather is obvious. Be sure to always have a waterproof jacket on hand (I love all the Barbour options!).
4. Levi’s denim jacket – $89.50
5. VIGOSS motto jacket – $40 (from $108!)
6. Barbour rain coat – $279
There’s no better time for mules than in between seasons. They’re the transitional staple. I also love a good pair of loafers with denim + a button down – put together and easy. For a more athletic look, opt for comfy slip-on sneakers. This blush hue screams spring!
7. Madewell leather mules – $98
8. Sam Edelman loafers – $120
9. Vans classic slip-on sneakers – $65
Ditch the chunky scarf and transition to a more lightweight, dainty option. Add a pop of color to your springtime wardrobe with a colorful, floral necktie. Hats are also a fun way to accessorize plus they look super chic.
10. Rebecca Minkoff silk bandana – $35
11. Brixton fedora – $64
Happy (almost) spring!
