winter style: pull-on-and-go velvet skirt

It feels like the holiday season has arrived extra early this year (and I am not complaining). The holiday season means company outings, gift swaps with the gals, holiday parties and lots of running around. Holiday wear, to me, is something that’s versatile but a bit special for the season. Enter: this super easy pull-on J.Crew velvet skirt.

Velvet for the holiday season (and winter) is not necessarily groundbreaking but it’s definitely trending this year. The velvet of this J.Crew skirt is seriously so soft. It also doesn’t seem to wrinkle too much which is HUGE for me (fun fact: I almost always carry around a bottle of wrinkle release in my bag because wrinkles make me feel that self conscious). I’m also loving the length of this skirt. It’s not quite a midi skirt but not mini, either. It’s appropriate for work but still feminine for a night out. The skirt also has pockets which is flattering, IMO. It’s a pull-on skirt which I can totally appreciate. Just slip-on and go, go, go! This skirt would be so adorable paired with over-the-knee boots and a red blouse for a real holiday look or with white sneakers, a casual tee and plaid coat for some serious holiday shopping in style.

Shop My Look:

J.Crew pull-on velvet skirt – $98

J.Crew v-neck sweater – $64.99 (from $79.50!)

BLANKNYC moto jacket – $98

Sam Edelman heels – $119.95

Here, I paired my velvet skirt with my go-to v-neck sweater from J.Crew. I practically live in this thing. It’s slouchy and super soft which is basically a dream combo when it comes to a sweater. I gave the sweater a little front tuck for a casual, cozy look. To top it off, quite literally, I threw on my moto jacket. It helps keep the look casual and easy which is perfect for weekend holiday lunches or get-together’s with your girls. I opted for black heels because I wanted to elevate the look. Plus, who doesn’t feel a little more dressed up when sporting a pair of heels? I love my Sam Edelman ones and consider these black heels a classic shoe staple that go with just.about.anything.

Did I mention this velvet skirt has some stretch? Which is perfect for all those holiday treats and vino. And pockets. Because who doesn’t love skirts with pockets?!

Cheers,

Tash
